A boot scooter for people who like to go further. The Rascal Vierra LiFe splits into pieces for the car, and the heaviest of them, the front section, is only 10.8 kg. Fit the 25 Ah lithium battery and it can cover up to 26.2 miles, which for most riders means several outings between charges. Riders of up to 21 st 5 lb are catered for, there is suspension all round for rough pavements, and it turns tightly enough to use indoors.

The Rascal Vierra LiFe in detail
An aluminium boot scooter with a battery made to last. Electric Mobility gave the Rascal Vierra LiFe a Lithium Ferro-Phosphate (LiFePO4) pack, covered by their Lifetime Battery Guarantee, and built a light frame around it that separates for the car.

The battery
LiFePO4 cells are designed for more than 1,500 charge cycles. There are two charging points, so you can plug in wherever is handiest, and the 25 Ah version comes with a rapid 5A charger that can add as much as 5 miles for every hour on charge. The smaller 12.4 Ah pack is sized with air travel in mind, though it is the airline that decides, so check with yours before booking a holiday.
Size and colours
It measures 108.3 cm long and 47 cm wide, climbs kerbs of up to 5 cm, and comes in blue, green, orange, pink or yellow. Have a go on one at our showrooms in the North West, where our engineers also take care of servicing.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Will it fit in my car?
Bring the car to any showroom and we will try it in the boot with you. We take it apart or fold it together, so you can see how it goes in and feel what each piece weighs before you decide.
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
