Will the Viper suit you?
The Drive Viper is a straightforward, reliable 8 mph road scooter for daily use. It covers up to 25 miles per charge, and its 14-inch alloy wheels lift it well clear of rough patches. All-round suspension and a rotating captain seat keep things comfortable, and an anti-rollback device steadies it on steep hills. A removable front bag and a pocket behind the seat hold your shopping. It stays assembled, so plan for a garage or shed.
The Viper is road legal. We handle the DVLA paperwork when you buy. Call ahead so the model is ready to try.

The Viper in detail
Dependable, well equipped and easy to get along with. Drive's Viper is an 8 mph road scooter that goes up to 25 miles between charges and arrives with the storage and safety kit already fitted.

Safety on the road
A bright LED headlight shows the way ahead, and rear-view mirrors cover what is behind. A cable brake worked by hand backs up the usual controls, and an anti-rollback device that stops the scooter slipping backwards on a steep gradient.
Room for the shopping
The front bag lifts off to carry indoors, and the pocket on the seat back keeps small items close. Come and try the Viper at one of our North West showrooms, where staff will show you the controls. Servicing and repairs can be done at a showroom or at home.

Faster than 4 mph
Using the Viper on the road
Anything that goes above 4 mph is a class 3 vehicle. You do not need a driving licence, and there is no vehicle tax to pay. The rules are short:
- It must be registered with the DVLA. Registration is free, and we complete it for you when you buy.
- You must be 14 or over to drive it.
- Keep to 4 mph on pavements and in pedestrian areas. The higher speed is for the road only.
- Not on motorways, in bus lanes or in cycle lanes, and avoid dual carriageways with a limit over 50 mph.
- Insurance is not a legal requirement, but it is strongly recommended.

Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No driving licence and no vehicle tax. Because it goes faster than 4 mph it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free, and we complete that for you when you buy. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.

What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
