Will the Envoy 8 Plus suit you?
The Envoy 8 Plus is the quickest model in Drive's Envoy family, a practical road scooter for everyday trips. Its 500 W motor carries riders weighing up to 25 stone, and it is rated for up to 30 miles on a charge. Pneumatic tyres and all-round suspension deal with rough pavements, and a smart LED dashboard keeps the information clear. A front basket takes the shopping. It stays assembled, in a garage or shed.
It is road legal at 8 mph, and registering it with the DVLA is something we do for you. Call ahead so the model is ready to try, and ask which of the four colours we have in.

Top of the Envoy range for speed. Drive's Envoy 8 Plus is an 8 mph road scooter with a 500-watt motor, up to 30 miles per charge and a 25 stone weight limit, offered in four colours.

A cushioned ride
Air-filled tyres take care of the small ripples in the pavement, and the suspension handles the bigger knocks. Together they keep the Envoy composed right up to its top speed.
Out after dark
With this much range, a day out can run into the evening. The bright LED headlight lights the path ahead, so shorter winter days need not cut a trip short. To see the Envoy 8 Plus in person, ring one of our showrooms first. Part exchange is available in store, and the 12-month warranty is looked after by our own engineers.

Faster than 4 mph
Using the Envoy 8 Plus on the road
Anything that goes above 4 mph is a class 3 vehicle. You do not need a driving licence, and there is no vehicle tax to pay. The rules are short:
- It must be registered with the DVLA. Registration is free, and we complete it for you when you buy.
- You must be 14 or over to drive it.
- Keep to 4 mph on pavements and in pedestrian areas. The higher speed is for the road only.
- Not on motorways, in bus lanes or in cycle lanes, and avoid dual carriageways with a limit over 50 mph.
- Insurance is not a legal requirement, but it is strongly recommended.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No driving licence and no vehicle tax. Because it goes faster than 4 mph it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free, and we complete that for you when you buy. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
