Will the Excel G-Explorer Self Propelled suit you?
The G-Explorer is for the wheelchair user who wants to go where the tarmac stops: park paths, towpaths, grass at the grandchildren's football. Its 24 inch mountain bike style tyres and wide front castors are made for rougher ground, while the ultra lightweight aluminium frame still folds for the car. Seat widths are 16, 18 or 20 inches.
Come and sit in one to find your width, and bring whoever pushes you on the hills so they can set the height-adjustable push handles. Try the fold too, which works by pulling up on the seat. Call ahead and we will have a G-Explorer ready.

The Excel G-Explorer Self Propelled in detail
Built for paths, parks and open air. Van Os Medical gave the Excel G-Explorer chunky tyres borrowed from mountain biking, so a self-propelled wheelchair can take on surfaces that a standard chair would rather avoid.

Comfort for two
The backrest angle has been set to give a more natural sitting position. Behind the chair, the push handles raise or lower to suit the height of the person helping, which makes longer outings more comfortable for both of you.
Folding and transport
Pull up on the seat upholstery and the frame folds in one movement. The backrest half-folds and the rear wheels and legrests come off, so the chair fits into almost any car boot.
