The viamobil eco is for the person doing the pushing. If you take a partner or parent out in a folding wheelchair and the hills are getting harder, this unit adds motor power going up and automatic braking coming down. You control it with a trigger on the handle, so walking with the chair feels natural, and the passenger enjoys a smooth, quiet ride.

The Alber Viamobil Eco Power Assist in detail
Made for carers, the viamobil eco does the hard work on ramps, slopes and long walks. This Alber power unit mounts on a folding wheelchair and both drives and brakes it, so the attendant guides the chair instead of heaving it.

Battery and charging
The 24 V, 7.2 Ah battery pack gives up to 12 km (about 7 miles), depending on the ground, the passenger's weight and the hills. It weighs 6 kg, lifts out by its built-in handle and has a shock-resistant ABS casing with its own charging socket. The automatic charger adapts to mains voltage from 90 to 240 V, shows charging progress and switches off when finished. A second battery pack is available as an option.
