Will the Shoprider Sovereign 4 suit you?
A classic-looking 4 mph pavement scooter for regular local trips, with up to 20 miles per charge. The padded seat swivels, which helps when pulling up to a table or getting on and off, and the armrests, seat height and tiller all adjust. Air-filled, non-marking tyres ride comfortably and leave indoor floors clean. It comes apart for the car, and the heaviest piece is 25 kg.
Bring the car and we will check it fits the boot, and you can try lifting the sections yourself before you buy. Call ahead so the model is ready to try.

Chrome bumper, marble-effect seat base, deep cushioned seat. The Shoprider Sovereign 4 has a traditional look that many riders love, backed by a 20 mile range and a frame that dismantles when you need to move it.

Seat and tiller
The padded seat swivels, so you can turn towards a table or step off sideways. Height and reach can both be set, and the armrests adjust as well. The tiller is adjustable and folds, which lets you bring the controls to where your arms are comfortable. Ten minutes spent on these settings with our showroom staff pays back on every trip.
Moving and storing it
Complete with batteries the scooter weighs 74 kg (163 lb). Taken apart, no single piece is over 25 kg. If a fault ever shows on the self-diagnostic system, our own North West engineers can sort it at a showroom or at your home.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
