Will the Cadiz suit you?
A full-size 8 mph road scooter for covering proper distances: up to 20 miles per charge. All-round suspension and large 13 inch air tyres soften rough roads, and 15 cm of ground clearance helps over low kerbs and road humps. A Hi/Low switch brings it down to 4 mph for pavements. It carries up to 25 stone and is kept assembled in a garage or shed.
The Cadiz is road legal, and the DVLA form is one we complete with you. Call ahead so the model is ready to try.

The Cadiz in detail
Sporty to look at, comfortable to sit on. Shoprider's Cadiz is a Class 3 scooter with suspension all round and 13 inch pneumatic tyres, equally at home on the road at 8 mph or on the pavement at 4 mph.

Seat and tiller
The cushioned captain's seat swivels and adjusts forwards, backwards and for height. The tiller angle adjusts too, and its wraparound delta handle gives you a choice of hand positions. Set up properly, the Cadiz stays comfortable on longer runs.
On the road
Lights and indicators tell other road users what you intend to do, while the mirror and horn add further confidence in traffic. Choose red or black. Our North West showrooms can take your present scooter in part exchange, and our own engineers look after the 12-month warranty.

Faster than 4 mph
Using the Cadiz on the road
Anything that goes above 4 mph is a class 3 vehicle. You do not need a driving licence, and there is no vehicle tax to pay. The rules are short:
- It must be registered with the DVLA. Registration is free, and we complete it for you when you buy.
- You must be 14 or over to drive it.
- Keep to 4 mph on pavements and in pedestrian areas. The higher speed is for the road only.
- Not on motorways, in bus lanes or in cycle lanes, and avoid dual carriageways with a limit over 50 mph.
- Insurance is not a legal requirement, but it is strongly recommended.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No driving licence and no vehicle tax. Because it goes faster than 4 mph it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free, and we complete that for you when you buy. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
