Will the Baja Wrangler suit you?
The Baja Wrangler is an 8 mph scooter made for rough ground. High ground clearance, 14.5 inch pneumatic tyres and suspension front and rear let it cope with tracks across fields, paths through woods and a run along the beach, as well as ordinary roads. It suits dog walkers, people with land to get around, and anyone whose favourite routes are unsurfaced. Range is up to 30 miles per charge. It stays assembled and lives in a garage or shed.
It is road legal, and we sort out the quick DVLA registration form. Call ahead so one is ready to try at a showroom.

Where the tarmac ends, the Baja Wrangler keeps going. Pride built this one tall, wide-tyred and fully sprung for riders who would sooner be on a bridleway than a pavement.

Made for the rough stuff
The big tyres and all-round suspension work together. The tyres find grip and cushion small bumps, and the springs deal with the dips and ridges, so the rider stays comfortable on farm lanes, forest trails and sand.
Easy in tight corners too
Back in town or in the yard, switch down to the 4 mph setting for finer control and let the backup sensor help as you reverse. Everything you need to know is on one screen in front of you.

Faster than 4 mph
Using the Baja Wrangler on the road
Anything that goes above 4 mph is a class 3 vehicle. You do not need a driving licence, and there is no vehicle tax to pay. The rules are short:
- It must be registered with the DVLA. Registration is free, and we complete it for you when you buy.
- You must be 14 or over to drive it.
- Keep to 4 mph on pavements and in pedestrian areas. The higher speed is for the road only.
- Not on motorways, in bus lanes or in cycle lanes, and avoid dual carriageways with a limit over 50 mph.
- Insurance is not a legal requirement, but it is strongly recommended.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No driving licence and no vehicle tax. Because it goes faster than 4 mph it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free, and we complete that for you when you buy. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
