Pride's Elite Traveller Sport is a car-boot scooter for shops, pavements and days out. It breaks down into five pieces, the heaviest being 20 kg, about a packed suitcase, and the frame release needs only one hand. Riders of up to 23 stone are welcome, which is generous for a scooter this size, and can cover up to 14 miles. The batteries lift out to charge indoors, so the scooter itself can stay in the car overnight.

The Elite Traveller Sport in detail
Pride's sportier take on a familiar travel scooter. This GoGo model keeps the proven Elite Traveller layout and gives it a slimmer, more modern body. Top speed is 4 mph, and it rolls on 9 inch wheels, which sit the scooter a little higher over uneven paving.

Charging that suits the car
The batteries can be charged off the scooter. Carry them indoors, plug in overnight, and leave everything else in the boot ready for the morning. Handy if your scooter lives in the car or a garage without a socket.
Seat and steering
The padded seat swivels to help you on and off, folds down for packing, and is covered in black vinyl that wipes clean. The delta tiller has wraparound handles, so you can steer with a relaxed grip and rest your wrists on longer trips. Our North West showroom staff can show you the take-apart routine and let you try the lifts yourself.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Will it fit in my car?
Bring the car to any showroom and we will try it in the boot with you. We take it apart or fold it together, so you can see how it goes in and feel what each piece weighs before you decide.
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
