Pride's largest 8 mph road scooter, the Colt Executive is aimed at riders who want a substantial, comfortable machine for regular longer trips. Suspension front and rear and pneumatic tyres smooth out the road, the sealed hydraulic brakes stop it cleanly, and LED lights keep you seen day and night. Expect up to 26 miles per charge from the comfort of a high-backed captain seat. It stays assembled and lives in a garage or shed.
It is road legal, and we handle the DVLA paperwork when you buy. Call ahead so a Colt Executive is ready to try at your nearest showroom.

Comfort at speed
A scooter feels different at 8 mph than at walking pace, and the Colt Executive is set up for it. The suspension takes the jolt out of potholes and kerb ramps, the air-filled tyres add a second layer of cushioning, and the tall seat back supports you on longer runs.
Where it lives
As a full-size road scooter it stays in one piece, so plan on a garage, shed or sheltered space with a socket for the charger. It comes with two keys. You are welcome to try one at our North West showrooms, and our own engineers carry out servicing and repairs, at a showroom or at your home.

Faster than 4 mph
Using the Colt Executive on the road
Anything that goes above 4 mph is a class 3 vehicle. You do not need a driving licence, and there is no vehicle tax to pay. The rules are short:
- It must be registered with the DVLA. Registration is free, and we complete it for you when you buy.
- You must be 14 or over to drive it.
- Keep to 4 mph on pavements and in pedestrian areas. The higher speed is for the road only.
- Not on motorways, in bus lanes or in cycle lanes, and avoid dual carriageways with a limit over 50 mph.
- Insurance is not a legal requirement, but it is strongly recommended.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No driving licence and no vehicle tax. Because it goes faster than 4 mph it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free, and we complete that for you when you buy. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
