Will the Midi GTE suit you?
Choose the Midi GTE if you want a proper road scooter without the bulk of the largest models. It puts the bigger Maxi GTE's features in a smaller body: all-round suspension, LED lights front and rear, and 30 cm wheels that roll over kerb edges and rough tarmac. The 55Ah batteries can give up to 26 miles. It stays assembled and lives in a garage or shed.
At 8 mph it is road legal, and our team completes the DVLA registration on your behalf. Call ahead so one is ready to try.

The Midi GTE in detail
A mid-size road scooter in carbon metallic. If the biggest 8 mph scooters feel like more machine than you need, the Midi GTE is the answer. It carries the Maxi GTE's feature list in a smaller frame, and the carbon-metallic paint gives it a look of its own.

Made for going further
The larger batteries are what set the Midi GTE up for longer trips: a run into town, a lap of the park and home again with charge in hand. The taller wheels help on uneven roads, and the suspension does the rest.

Size is hard to judge from a photo. In our North West showrooms you can sit on the Midi GTE, check the reach to the tiller and drive it before deciding. Servicing and repairs are handled by our own engineers, at a showroom or at home.

Faster than 4 mph
Using the Midi GTE on the road
Anything that goes above 4 mph is a class 3 vehicle. You do not need a driving licence, and there is no vehicle tax to pay. The rules are short:
- It must be registered with the DVLA. Registration is free, and we complete it for you when you buy.
- You must be 14 or over to drive it.
- Keep to 4 mph on pavements and in pedestrian areas. The higher speed is for the road only.
- Not on motorways, in bus lanes or in cycle lanes, and avoid dual carriageways with a limit over 50 mph.
- Insurance is not a legal requirement, but it is strongly recommended.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No driving licence and no vehicle tax. Because it goes faster than 4 mph it must be registered with the DVLA, which is free, and we complete that for you when you buy. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
