The Leo is a compact 4 mph pavement scooter for everyday use: shopping centres, museums, busy pavements, the places where a bigger scooter feels awkward. It still goes a long way, up to 23 miles per charge, and carries up to 21 stone. Its full lighting set, with brake lights and indicators, helps on darker evenings. For holidays or storage it comes apart into 5 pieces, and charging is off-board, so the batteries can come indoors.

Invacare built the Leo around safety, then kept it small enough for crowded places. The result is a 4 mph pavement scooter with a long range, a proper set of lights and a well-earned name for reliability.

Safety details
The freewheel lever works in two steps: a button has to be pressed before the scooter can be switched in or out of freewheel. That means it cannot slip into freewheel by accident while you are riding. The full lighting set lets drivers and pedestrians see you, and see when you are slowing or turning.
Everyday use
Its compact shape gives a responsive ride in busy spots, and the front basket takes a bag of shopping. Off-board charging lets you charge the batteries away from the scooter. When a weekend away calls, the Leo breaks down for the car. Our North West engineers look after servicing and repairs, at a showroom or at home.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
