Will the Apex Alumalite suit you?
Pride's lightest scooter, the Apex Alumalite is built for people who lift a scooter in and out of a car regularly. The aluminium frame weighs 28.8 kg without its battery, and once taken apart the heaviest piece is 11 kg. It runs at 4 mph for up to 10 miles, which covers a shopping trip or a day at the coast, and the lithium battery is a size airlines commonly take, so check with your airline if you plan to fly. Charge it overnight and it is ready for the day.
Bring your car to a showroom and we will check it fits the boot before you buy. Call ahead so one is ready to try.

The Apex Alumalite in detail
28.8 kg of scooter before the battery goes in. Pride built the Apex Alumalite on a solid aluminium frame to keep lifting to a minimum, and nothing else in the Pride range weighs less.

Battery and charging
Lithium keeps the battery pack small and light, so it is no trouble to carry indoors. Plug it in the night before and the scooter is set for the shops, a garden centre or a day out.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Will it fit in my car?
Bring the car to any showroom and we will try it in the boot with you. We take it apart or fold it together, so you can see how it goes in and feel what each piece weighs before you decide.
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
Can I get it on the Motability Scheme?
Yes, this model is available through the Scheme. If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance you can use it to lease this instead of buying, with insurance, servicing and breakdown cover included. Sign up in any showroom or call us.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
