Will the Scout Venture suit you?
The Scout Venture is a small, easy-going scooter for the shops, the precinct and trips out in the car. It comes apart into five pieces for the boot, and the battery box lifts out so you can charge it indoors while the scooter stays in the car, shed or garage. Delta handlebars come as standard, the seat turns full circle and adjusts for height, and the tyres are puncture proof. Expect up to 13 miles a charge at up to 4 mph.

The Scout Venture in detail
Big-scooter touches on a mini scooter. With the Scout Venture, Drive brought delta handlebars to its smallest class for the first time, and fitted its newest splitting mechanism so the scooter separates more easily for the car.

Seat and steering
Swing the seat round to the side and getting on is as simple as sitting in a chair. Set the height to suit your legs, turn to face forward and you are ready. The delta bars give you a choice of hand positions, something usually kept for larger scooters.
Charging and storing
Because the battery box comes indoors on its own, the scooter can live wherever is handy, whether that is the boot, a shed or the garage. Taken apart, it needs far less room than a scooter that stays in one piece.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Will it fit in my car?
Bring the car to any showroom and we will try it in the boot with you. We take it apart or fold it together, so you can see how it goes in and feel what each piece weighs before you decide.
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
