Will the Smarti suit you?
The Smarti is for people who want the scooter to do the folding for them. Press a button, or use the remote control, and within seconds it has closed itself into a compact shape for the car boot or a holiday. With its lithium battery fitted it weighs 27.3 kg, goes up to 9 miles on a charge and tops out at 4 mph for pavements and shopping centres. Rear suspension, unusual on an auto-folding scooter, takes the sting out of uneven paving.

The Smarti in detail
A long-running favourite, redesigned. Around ten years after the first Smarti arrived, Monarch's new version keeps the push-button fold and adds rear suspension, a more weather-resistant chassis and a better remote control.

Folding
The fold is fully powered. The scooter closes itself into a compact package that suits the boot, a trip abroad or a corner of the hall, and opens again just as easily when you arrive.
Build and ride
Monarch has reworked the chassis to stand up better to the weather and uses quality components for a more solid feel. Rear suspension is a rarity on scooters that fold themselves, and you notice it on broken paving. We are happy to demonstrate the fold at our showrooms across the North West, and part exchange is there for anyone moving on from an older scooter.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Will it fit in my car?
Bring the car to any showroom and we will try it in the boot with you. We take it apart or fold it together, so you can see how it goes in and feel what each piece weighs before you decide.
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
