Will the Air suit you?
The Monarch Air is built around lightness: 14.75 kg before you add the battery and seat cushion, thanks to a frame and wheels in magnesium alloy. Four wheels give a planted, reassuring feel on corners, the tiller adjusts to your driving position, and the solid 8 inch tyres never need pumping up. It carries up to 125 kg, around 19½ stone, and the 10 Ah battery, which can be charged off the scooter, gives up to 7.5 miles at 4 mph.
Bring your car so we can check the Air goes in your boot before you buy. Call ahead so an Air is ready to try, and pick it up yourself in the showroom to feel the weight.

Strength without the weight. Monarch set out to make the Air as light as they could without cutting corners on build quality, which is why both the frame and the wheels are magnesium alloy.

Why four wheels
Many very light scooters have three wheels. Monarch chose four for a steadier, more reassuring feel through corners, and added an adjustable tiller so you can set a driving position that suits you. The 8 inch solid PU tyres need no air, and drive comes from a 120W brushless motor.
Carrying and charging
The Air sits in our manual-fold range, and its low weight makes it a natural choice for the car boot. The battery can be charged away from the scooter, so the scooter can stay in the car or hallway while the battery tops up indoors. Lift one for yourself in any of our North West showrooms. Our engineers can service it there or at your home.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Will it fit in my car?
Bring the car to any showroom and we will try it in the boot with you. We take it apart or fold it together, so you can see how it goes in and feel what each piece weighs before you decide.
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
