It weighs 27.5 kg in total, has four wheels, and runs at 4 mph for pavements, shopping centres and holidays. A charge lasts up to 13 miles, and many airlines carry its lithium-ion battery, so check with your airline before a trip abroad.

The S-Mart Autofold 4 in detail
Four wheels, one button, 12 seconds. That is all the S-Mart Autofold needs to go from a compact package to a scooter you can drive away, or back again. There are no catches to release and no frame to pull together by hand.

Made for getting away
Because the fold is powered, you can open and close the scooter as many times a day as you like: at the car, at the café door, in a hotel room. Once your airline has agreed to the lithium-ion battery, your own scooter can come on holiday with you.

Questions people ask us in the shop
Will it fit in my car?
Bring the car to any showroom and we will try it in the boot with you. We take it apart or fold it together, so you can see how it goes in and feel what each piece weighs before you decide.
Do I need a licence, tax or insurance?
No. A 4 mph pavement scooter needs no licence, no tax and no registration. Insurance is not a legal requirement, but we strongly recommend it.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Just walk in to any of our 9 North West showrooms, or call first and we will have this model ready for you. If you cannot get to us and you live in the North West, we will bring it to your home for a free demonstration.
What happens if it breaks down?
It comes with a 12-month warranty, looked after by our own engineers. For a warranty repair we collect it and bring it back free of charge across mainland UK. After that, we service and repair at any showroom or at your home.
Can I part exchange my old one?
Yes. Bring your old scooter or powerchair to any showroom and we will value it there and then, with up to £400 off your new one. We can also give a price by phone, confirmed when we see it.
Do I have to pay VAT?
Not if the person it is for has a long-term illness or disability and it is for their own personal use. The price shown already has VAT relief applied. You confirm that you qualify once, with a short declaration in your cart. There is nothing to send to HMRC.
How will it be delivered?
Most people choose engineer delivery for £79: it arrives inspected and assembled, with a full demonstration, and we take the packaging away. Free courier delivery to the kerbside is also available.
